Talking Nonsense

The queen of crappy journalism was back this week and how ..She was all over. Talking Nonsense with Shashi Tharoor, We the people , Crappy interview with a transvestite . Wow! that was quite a lot by her standards.

The programme "Talking Nonsense" with Shashi Tharoor exposed the drama queen totally as the dud she is. She was asking some really rubbish questions and one could see in the end even she was ashamed by it. Sample this , She asked him " The other South Asian countries fear ( Read Pakistan) that India will act as a Big brother once you become Secretary General". He replied very sarcastically but politely " I wont be accountable to the Indian politicians , I will be answerable to 190 country members". This was just one of the rubbish questions she put across and it was nice to see Shashi Tharoor showing her place. This woman is such a worst hypocrite one can ever across in life. Its unfathomable to think that she would interview a person without doing any kind of homework. I wonder how the roys allow her to do what she wants .

Its high time the Indian government gives her a one-way ticket to Islamabad but I'm not sure if Musharraf would be mighty pleased to have her there permanently. Any other channel would have put the programme "Beyond stereotype" in the trash can but NDTV being a Pak-friendly channel hyped it like anything and telecast it many times over. The Transvestite who was interviewed by Barkha was either on drugs or she/he got so excited on being interviewed that he started blabbering one idiotic remark after another. I don't think NDTV can go further down the pits if they keep on telecasting such stupid programmes.

Pakistan should stop spending huge sums on producing propaganda programmes on PTV. NDTV is doing a much better job of it with no one even battling an eye lid. I am really taken aback by the audacity of NDTV to keep on indulging in such a propaganda . Why the government is sitting quiet in the face of such covert propaganda from within is something which needs to be questioned.

Anyway, I saw one creature called Indira Kannan on IBN interviewing the actor who plays Superman. Oh boy! She was totally at sea asking some really laughable questions. She was totally over-awed by the occasion . I think she is one those Tam-Brahmins whose father must have gone to US and got settled there. She would have been better off being a housewife to one those nerdy techies than being in front of a camera.

Day by day this Gaurika chopra is trying to ape Sonali chander in the way she pronounces , the way she tries to go high pitch and low pitch and the mannerisms. I'm sure Sonali would love it but it sucks big time. More on some inside news about sports desk in next post.

Tale of Two Drones

I have been watching NDTV since its inception in its new avatar and also before when they were providing feeds and producing news for Star and DD. One thing which has not changed for quite some years is the presence of Amitabh Revi and Jyotsna Mohan. I would like to know if they are paying money to read news or else what kind of people are supporting them. Its a mystery which even the best of detectives might not be able to solve on why any sane person would allow these two drones to read news .

I have seen this Amitabh read news on prime time on a few days and it was an eye opener in more ways than one. He is as stiff as a pole and there is never any change in facial or audio expression. I have till date never seen him do any kind of reporting and it makes me wonder if he is a journalist in the first place. Then there is Jyotsna Mohan who reads so fast that even a lip-reader may fail to understand her. When NDTV was started operations there were strong rumors that some rich people were pumping money to get themselves on TV and that Jyotsna was paying money to read news. How far these were true is anyone's guess but now after seeing the two drones read news rather sound like a tanpura makes me believe in those theories.

These days news channels are becoming like those payment based medical and engineering colleges and anyone flush with ill gotten money earned by their father or husbands can give money and read news. These two drones can be used as role-models to those aspiring to become journalists .

IBN has these Anubha and Suhasini as their prime time anchors and though they are quite competent they have certain weird habits. Anubha who is becoming fatter by the day keeps on smiling irrespective of the type of news being read. Suhasini has these very odd habit of slanting and jerking her neck from one side to another. The kind of jerk she gives from left sometimes and right sometimes is completely unnatural. I tried it once and my neck pulled up and I could not move my neck for two days. Its understandable and natural that every person has his/her own style but its beyond my understanding why one needs to keep on smiling always.

Another week passed and the Rahul Mahajan saga still continues . The media circus goes with the drug issue hogging the headlines and Lo Behold ! The drama queen is back and she was hosting " We the lefties" with the usual suspects as guests like Suhel " I have horns on my head" Seth who is like a record which got stuck. For the last 2 years, he has been saying "the system is rotten" in all the episodes of this programme whenever he has appeared be it cricket , politics or now drugs. This programme gets all those commies from the posh localities of Delhi to talk on issues which are as irrelevant to the common man as the NASDAQ . I am being told that Her Excellency "drama queen " bought herself another award. It seems its her hobby to buy awards from the huge pay packet she gets every month by acting.

NDTV proves a point

NDTV beat the other channels with respect to the coverage of the Mahajan saga . Yesterday they were the first to report about his arrest while IBN was showing their sports segment. HT and TN were stating Rahul was going to be arrested while he was already arrested. NDTV was first to inform that he was taken into custody and though their reporter was that useless woman called Anasuya who looks like a drug addict herself, they after a long time did a comptent job out of this issue.

The coverage of this incident again proves the point that today irrelevant news items are being given prime time importance as if the country's wellbeing is at stake. I could have understood if it was Rahul Gandhi but pray who is Rahul Mahajan and what is his qualification for hogging the limelight for the last 4-5 days. All the channels has around 4-5 reporters working on such a stupid story while the Office of profit issue was just said in passing. The president returning such an important bill is something which should have been analysed in great detail but it was given as much importance as the weather report.

The worse reporter award should be given to Shiv Pujan Jha for the kind of rubbish he dished out from the police station on the day Rahul Mahajan was taken to hospital. First time, VSA asked him about what the police are saying, he said " Let me show the police station and the camera zoomed to show the police station and next he said " The area is thickly populated as you can see from here" ...then the second time when after 20 mins VSA went to him he said " Let me show you the police station' and then the camera showed the police station from his left side. First time the viewer was treated to this historic police station from the right side and then the second time from left. I think all the viewers must have attained salvation.

This chap is such a moron that he cant even make a proper report and he went on talking some crap which except him no one would have understood. His linguistic skills are atrocious to say the least and he is the crime reporter of a news channel which is proclaiming itself to be the best in business today. NDTV did quite a commendable job on the first day and due credit should be given to Siddarth Pandey for being first to give information and also for analysis provided.Even TN was better compared to IBN and please spare us the sight of Jha. It would be interesting to see what how his performance appraisal turns out to be.
